Illustration Friday: Suspend

This illustration was completed as an assignment about three years ago when I was studying illustration. It is one of three, the other two can be seen on my website. The story is about a little monster who wakes up at night, cuts nose hairs off sleeping people and then re-sticks the hair onto unwitting creatures. This explains the spider with a moustache!

More birds!

Just having a quiet afternoon when a large flock of yellow tailed Cockatoos descended on the bushes in the garden. The camera doesn't show them very well, just look carefully.

Flinders Art Show

I really enjoy driving down to Flinders to take my paintings for the show.This year the weather was a concern after having extreme gales and rain the day before, I wasn't too keen on catching a falling tree! Luckily the branches were all cleared and I bumped into my friend Karen and enjoyed a great lunch at the bakery cafe.( check out her lovely blog http://karenerasmus.wordpress.com/).

Sunami Alert Tri Trang Beach

It's been a while since I blogged as we traveled to Hong Kong to see my daughter and family. We  really enjoyed our holiday, also taking a trip to Phuket Thailand. We had a great time despite a Sunami alert and experiencing the Sankran festival which celebrates the Thailand new year. This great tradition means everybody is in fear of being shot with a water gun and sometimes sprayed with talc, the wetter you are the happier you are in the coming year. We were kept cool in the heat but were very wet!!
The Sunami didn't materialize  to everyone's relief as Phuket suffered badly in 2004. This time there was a warning in place and we spent three hours on the fourth floor and the roof of the hotel.
