Memories

I was searching through my linen cupboard and found the quilt I started when my two children were small. They are both adults now and have happy and successful lives. As young children they both helped piece this quilt together sewing the individual squares round the paper templates ready for me to sew together by hand. The pattern is based on a simple Amish quilt design  which I still love. I'm ashamed to say that my quilt is still unfinished, a little bit shabby and in need of a wash, and my sewing is not too neat, but I think I'll make one last effort to finish it this year. Wish me luck!

Afternoon tea

One of my favourite places in Melbourne is the botanical gardens, strolling by the lake or having the cream scones in the cafe. This little Turtle Dove caused great amusement enjoying the remnants of the cream. In the end his face was covered in the white stuff and he gave up probably feeling sick!

It's that time of the year again and I'm looking forward to spending time with my family, and wishing all my blogging friends a happy Christmas and a healthy, creative new year.
